We hope you are staying well. It's been a difficult year for everyone.
 
Nevertheless, we have some very good news. We have added world class COO Rick Wayman to our team!

BIO
Rick Wayman brings over fifteen years of experience in organizations ranging from small business startups to international NGOs. He has a Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, and Spanish from Marquette University, and a Master's Degree in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management from the SIT Graduate Institute. Rick's extensive experience building, managing, and participating in diverse and effective teams – both large and small – has contributed to significant achievements, including a new treaty at the United Nations and the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize.
 

30 day countdown to "Day One"!

Rick has joined us to fulfill a very ambitious launch plan. That's right, we're going to be opening our (virtual) doors in January! Negotiations are underway with a prospective Strategic Partner to produce and distribute GeoComb Homes nationally.
West Coast regional locations will be opening soon! Fire damage areas and Quarantine WellComb Homes are at the top of our priorities with Fire Resistant Models plus the ADU and TinyComb lines. We are negotiating with them also to serve customers in the the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions immediately next year. In fact, we are getting ready to announce even bigger plans. Buckle your seatbelts!

GeoComb Homes Outlook for November 2020

Like most businesses in these times, we are continuing to evaluate and plan in the midst of uncertainty. While contemplating a new business this year we have found it necessary to consider emerging events and trends to make sure that our launch strategy can be realistic and successful. Over the course of the Covid-19 isolation orders and economic impacts there have been a number of pre-order applicants who understandably needed to cancel or postpone their projects. In addition, supply chain and pricing issues have arisen for all of us in manufacturing. We have continued to adjust our business model and start up plans accordingly.

Our Launch Strategy has shifted. Early Bee Pre-order Discount Offers have been replaced. Our path to the public release of our initial product offerings will instead be anchored by Founding Prototype Sponsors who will be invited to support the final development of the first model in their category. These Seed Founders will be rewarded with royalty contracts on sales of the model version they pre-order and fund. Founding Sponsors can be individuals, businesses, or partnerships.

GeoCombHomes.com has added a lot of new information and pictures, go take a look! Fire Resistant and Hurricane Resistant designs are in progress. We are gearing up to offer Rapid Replacement and Renewal Services to communities impacted by fires, storms, and flooding. Additionally we will be releasing a version optimized for ultra-affordable housing to alleviate acute shelter shortages. We are creating a non-profit organization to serve the need for ultra-affordable shelter for tiny house villages and other public/private partnerships.

We have incorporated in California and The Bahamas. We expect to open for business in California, Oregon, and The Bahamas during 2021. We are planning to open with 5 model types. Check the link for estimated pricing.

Tiny Living Goes Big Time

We're back from the TinyFest and the excitement is still moving through us from all the great people, creativity and interest in simple living we found there. Our experience is perfectly described by this Instagrammer we met who posted a pic of our mock-up display pieces showing a corner and interlocking post. Her words were echoed by many visitors to our booth.

"My favorite part of @tinyfest.events was this...of course triangles were involved! @geocombhomes created this genius way to make easy to assemble modular dome structures. Out of all the fancy tiny houses and van life examples to tour, this was most impressive to me. There were a few things I learned/observed yesterday: (1) tiny living is just arriving to the masses. (2) the interest in tiny living is about affordable housing and financial freedom to most. (3) although those are total bonuses to tiny living, little emphasis was put on sustainable lifestyles and reducing carbon footprint. (4) It would be so rad to work in tandem with festivals like this to educate and make it more about the necessity of minimalism to better the health of our planet. Some of the tiny homes were total tiny mansions. Less stuff frees us from the burden of figuring out where to put all of it. Food for Sunday thought..."


It is wonderful hearing so much feedback that GeoComb Homes is The Rapid Shelter System that works well for different kinds of people and many uses. It was important for us to find out that there is such strong interest in GeoComb Homes and Tiny Living, but also very helpful were the great connections we made with the Tiny House and Simple Living Community and vendors. We met with the makers of custom windows, kitchen and bathroom units, and a variety of indoor and outdoor appliances for solar use, water catchment and lots of the accessories that Early Bee pre-sale applicants have requested. It feels good to build the synergy of this community by forming the network for simple living.

Early Adopter Update

We'll be separating the ADU roll out from the unpermitted backyard components. There are many Early Adopters who need Certified products for permit applications, and others who are satisfied without that label. Therefore we will continue the longer and more costly development process of Certified "tagged" components while starting production of the "uncertified" but nearly identical options sooner. We will be processing the applications beginning this week in these in two parallel groups so that the process of getting State and Federal Certifications does not further delay the group who does not need it.

The minimum amount of Early Adopter Applicants to begin individual consultations and ordering has almost been reached. There's still time to plan a set of components for your Early Adopter Pre-Paid Discount. Fill out that form if you haven't already done so.

This gives us an opportunity to share, learn, and connect with creators of many types of Simple Living solutions. It will be a chance to measure the interest and viability in this community and share Information. Scale Models of core components will be on hand for demonstration. Come enjoy the many good ideas and amazing creations there if you can!

The TinyFest Celebration is a community of Tiny House builders and lovers plus vendors of many related products and services. TinyFest is built upon showcase events in varios locations around the United States.

We will be in a booth space inside the main building with other vendors and activities on Saturday and Sunday. We are excited to make this an early stop on our Tiny House, ADU, and Alternative Shelter Road Trip!

Thank you Santa Barbara for showing up to support this vision and making the 2nd Annual Housing Santa Barbara Day a great success. We have received many inquiries with the help of our amazing local friends the Santa Barbara Independent and Santa Barbara City Housing Authority. We are excited to work with the Santa Barbara community to support affordable housing and ADU solutions.

Housing Santa Barbara Day

Introducing GeoComb Homes!

GeoComb Homes has been invited to present our company and building system at the Second Annual Housing Santa Barbara Day with a booth in the festivities at De La Guerra PLaza on Saturday October 19, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. We would love to see you and answer your questions!

We are very grateful for the support the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara has given to our effort to bring truly affordable housing to Santa Barbara. This breakthrough opportunity is where we are going to begin Pre Orders for the Early Adopter series of production. We will have a video of the Prototype on display and information about the structures. There will also be an opportunity to get signed up for the big discounts we are making available to the Early Adopters. Prototype Complete and Next Steps

The GeoComb Prototype is complete and is a great success!

A great team of friends assembled the first GeoComb Home last fall with finishing touches in January. We were able to set it up in only a couple of hours as we hoped. It has been reported as the most comfortable housing on the land where it sits on property near the ridge above Santa Barbara. It stays warmest on cold days and coolest in those sweltering mountain heat waves. We learned so much building it and many improvements are being integrated into the design. As soon as the patents have been submitted for review we can publish the design details and post our videos of the prototype setup.

We are currently in talks with manufacturing partners for the components. This is a very exciting time as we see the launch moving closer. The "GeoComb Homes" business entity has been created as a sole proprietorship with a plan to incorporate before the first units are delivered. We'll be posting much more often from now on, and ramping up the outreach strategy. These are good times to offer solutions that provide needed affordable housing and manufacturing with sustainable materials. The Accessory Dwelling Unit regulations are going into place. Applications are surging statewide. Southern California will be our entry market for private residential applications. We will be creating a non-profit entity to work with governmental bodies and foundations to provide affordable housing and Relief Shelter.

We will be posting an Opportunities Page this week for those interested in joining the team or collaborating in other ways. Early Adopters -  those wanting to get special discounts opportunities in exchange for participating in research interviews and 100% and 75% deposits - should get signed up soon since production will be starting within a few weeks.

Prototype Development Update

Progress Report:

We are pleased to report that the Proof of Concept Prototype GeoComb Home is in the final stages of completion. Most of the components are complete. They are being trimmed out, and then getting finish coats of paint or clear sealer.. The Prototype will be painted on the exterior and will have a light wood finish on the inside.

A beautiful site under an oak tree is under preparation to place this GeoComb Home.

GeoComb Begins Active Development

Progress Report:

GeoComb has begun the Prototype design and construction phase. This is very exciting, as it is the most significant milestone on the path to realizing the GeoComb Homes Mission. Now we'll get to see the late night sketches and long held ideas take shape.

Many issues and details will be worked through during this process. The production design and manufacturing drawings will proceed in conjunction with the testing and tooling information developed  in the prototype process.

The proof of concept model will be built, and then assembled, on a beautiful spot of land in the mountains above Santa Barbara, California. Special thanks go to Ishmiel and the Lounsbury Family for sponsoring and otherwise supporting this crucial Prototype sprint. GeoComb Homes will be seeded and greatly benefitted by their generousity and vision of a healing world. Thanks go out also to all my community and family fo their support, and for showing such curiosity and excitment about this project. All of you have been a great reflecting pool. This Vision is for you.
